THE STORY
Sébastien Dupré and Guillaume Goujon are two school friends who have made their dream of becoming winegrowers come true. Natives of Beaujolais, they studied in prestigious estates (Montcalmès, L’Oratoire Saint-Martin), before returning home in 2012 and combining their desire and skills on the Côte de Brouilly.
In 2015, they signed their first vintage with the emblematic cuvée 6.3.1, a blend of their three terroirs (60% L’Héronde, 30% Le Pavé, 10% Brulhier).
In just a few years, they have been able to assert an ambitious style of wines and a particularly superb range of single vineyard selections reflecting the identity and diversity of terroirs on this cru.
THE TERROIR
The estate located in Saint-Lager, comprises 10.5ha on the Côte de Brouilly spread over tree expressive terroirs :
- L’Héronde, south-facing blue stones
- Le Pavé, blue stones facing East
- Brulhié, blue stones and granites, facing South
The whites (4.5 hectares) are planted further south in the vicinity of Saint Julien and the renowned limestone terroir of Pierres Dorées. Here the grapes offer nice balances of richness and tension.
THE SPIRIT
In an agro-ecological and biodynamic approach preserving biodiversity, Sébastien and Guillaume produce wines of great identity. Their credo: « do good, do nice, naturally. »
The cuvées reveal the diversity of soils and exposures. The vinifications are low interventionist but precise, with moderate sulfur levels. Aged patiently, the wines are nuanced and reflect a charming style typical for the appellation.
